About the West Coast eLearning Course

The Basic West Coast Course covers No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 grades. It is different from the Southern Pine Course in that you can add lessons for the Light Framing Grades of Construction, Standard, and Utility, as well as Select Structural and STUD grades. The grading rules for Western Species Decay, which are different than the Decay rules for Southern Pine, are also covered and explained in detail. Select the version from the list below that includes the all the grades you are interested in. The appropriate knot tests and rule reviews that are unique to the western mills when producing Light Framing Grades combined with Select Structural and STUD grades will also be included.
